We tried to get to a backcountry overlook of Monument Valley Tribal Park, but this is as far as we got. The gate wasn't locked, but we didn't want to disrespect the Navajo.

So, we went to the regular tourist entrance...

...and made friends with some of locals.

I love this little guys underbite. Notice that his fur is almost the same color as the dirt.

We went to the San Juan River Goosenecks and Valley of the Gods. We drove a dirt road that took us up the side of this mesa as a thunderstorm was raining down on the valley below.

About 45 miles later, through rain and hail, we got to Natural Bridges National Monument and hiked down to this bridge.

Then we drove back down to the highway and got to Moab, UT around 7:30pm. We ate dinner at the Moab Brewery. Tomorrow we'll go to Arches and Canyonlands.
